Food Chain
Food Web
- In this food web all the organisms originally get their energy from the plants except the plants who get their energy from the sun and pass it on as they get eaten.
- If a certain population increased or decreased that would mean more or less food for the other species that either eat that species or eat what it eats.
- Things that can limit the population growth with these organisms may be the lack of energy. Sometimes there may not be enough food during the winter because lots of the plants die out and there would be less food. Also if a predator of a population were to increase that would mean more of them would be eaten and that would lower the population.
Invasive Specie
Invasive species can be a real problem in environments. On invasive specie affecting the temperate grasslands is Alligatorweed. Alligatorweed is a type of plant that grows long roots that are know for being able to gravitate towards water sources making it difficult for other plants to grow, clog waterways, increase sedimentation, interfere with irrigation, and prevent drainage.
